Angels and Oscars
We sat on the couch, glued to the TV, watching the Oscars last night. When the Best Actress nominees were being read, we closed our eyes, entwined our hands and chanted Ma-ri-on, Ma-ri-on. We sent all of our positive energy to her....and when her name was announced, we screamed and jumped up and down. Her last words as she accepted, " It is true, there are angels in this city tonight!"
Congratulations Marion!!!! You are the Best Actress of the year. Edith Piaf would be proud.
And if you haven't seen La Vie En Rose and her stunning performance, you don't know what you are missing. It was as if Edith channeled herself through Marion. Run right out and rent it!

I can't say fairly that I thought her performance was the best, but only because her performance was the only one nominated that we had seen. I can say I have no doubt she deserved the Oscar as I was blown away by her role. She was incredible as Edith Piaf. And I loved her shaky acceptance speech. And her mermaid dress.

Hers was the only non-documentary movie I have watched, and I loved her acting. I am happy for her.

I saw the movie and found it to be very enlightening since I had known nothing about Piaf's tragic life before that. I had never heard of Marion C. until I saw the movie, and I think she did a superb job portraying Piaf. I must admit that I was very surprised to see how beautiful she was at the Oscars because she was anything but that in the movie.
